What exactly is CBD?
CBD (cannabidiol) is in as many as 113+ cannabinoid compounds occurring in the plant species Cannabis (including both industrial hemp and marijuana).
While industrial hemp contains antioxidants and neuroprotective rich cannabinoids like CBD, CBG, CBN, and CBC – researchers suspect many have yet to be identified.
It contains less than .3% to 0% of the psychoactive component Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) found in it’s cousin marijuana thereby lacking anything that could give the user any “high” sensation usually associated with it; nor will tests for positive THC exposure and thus potentially failure of a drug test occur.
What about Hemp Research?
With the passing of the 2018 farm bill, hemp (Cannabis Sativa L.) went from highly restricted to research only through university monitored pilot programs to being federally legalized and removed from the list of controlled substances by the DEA.
This began a reintroduction of a significant cash crop to the U.S. agricultural economy replacing much of what tobacco formerly held and soon to be grains, cotton and even timber as more producers accept the value that hemp has to offer in terms of the sheer number of products and the ease of production in terms of resources required to produce (fertilizer/water/pesticides/crop rotation).
